Our Education Department is working to develop a green space in North Kensington, in collaboration with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s community gardening team.

We aim to provide a functional and beautiful space which people who live locally can use to grow food and learn about health, well-being and the power of plants.

This garden is for the community. Supported by our expertise here at Chelsea Physic Garden, we need local people to share their knowledge and get involved.

Here’s what we have coming up at Elkstone Road Garden this summer.

Pollinator Paths

London Sustainability Exchange’s (LSx) Pollinator Paths project is coming to Elkstone Road on 18th May from 10.30am-12.30pm.

Create a container garden to take home with pollinator-friendly plants.

This workshop is free. To sign up, call 020 7234 9401 or email [email protected]

Elkstone Road Garden Community Action Day

Come along and share ideas for your garden, with free pizza and seeds for everyone at this Chelsea Fringe event on 22nd May from 12.30-7pm.

You’ll have the chance to make your own mandala with Peggy Coles from Dementia Action Alliance, participate in a workshop with The Herb Society, and do some planting of your own.

This event is free – just show up on the day.

We are collaborating with Progress London to gather ideas from the local community on the content of a large mural to be painted by children, local schools and as many people living locally as possible. Progress London will also be hosting art and planting workshops.

Painting dates for the mural in June are: Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, Saturday 15th, Sunday 16th and Sunday 23rd.

Container Growing with WEA

Funded by RBKC, the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) will run two container gardening sessions at Elkstone Road Garden on 14th June and 12th July.
